  1. Your articles are fantastic. I too, am a municipal police officer here in the lower mainland and I appreciate your writings. I just wish the government or Chiefs of police “fight back” against the IIO for their members. I am a Use of Force instructor and am seeing very negative effects. Officers, although justified in using force, are not going “hands on” for fear of the administrative punishment they may receive. It’s only a matter of time before an officer gets seriously hurt or killed. I’d love to take the criticizers of police through some RBT and see how they would respond to situations police officers are faced with every day they go to work. Thanks again for what you do!

  2. I was a eye witness to the Canadian tire shooting and I can tell you that the officer shot the suspect in self defence of him and rest of the people around him. The Suspect had already stabbed the clerk and the officer so I don’t understand what is there that IIO wants to investigate. By the way it wasn’t a robbery the suspect had much bigger and sinister plans.

    • You are exactly correct. And why this is so mystifying. Any good investigator who understands the law and police procedures would have had this done and dusted by now.
